2026-2027 IHPSA Executive Council By-Election and RFHS Council IHP Representatives Election
Applications will close September 15th at 11:59 PM.
Please be aware of the following election regulations:
Slates are not permitted, and candidates who do not follow this regulation shall be disqualified.
Students must run for only one position whether that be the Director of UMSU Relations, Director of Academic Events, or one of 5 IHP Representative on the RFHS Council.
The campaigning period is from Thursday, September 17th, 6:00 pm to Wednesday, September 23rd, 11:59 pm. Candidates campaigning outside of this period may be subject to disqualification.
There will be a mandatory virtual All-Candidates meeting on Thursday, September 17th from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm. If you are unable to make it, please email the CRO to send a proxy. Your proxy must be an individual who is not running in the election, preferably an IHP student. If no IHP students are available, they must be a U of M student.

The Director of UMSU Relations is responsible for attending meetings of the UMSU Board of Directors (or arranging a proxy when unable to do so), reporting on the proceedings and updates to the Executive and General Councils, and maintaining relations between the Association and UMSU. The Director of UMSU Relations should have a sound comprehension of UMSU’s governing documents and Robert’s Rules of Order, and represent the interests of IHP students to the BOD.

The Director of Academic Events shall be a member of the Standing Committee on Social Events. They should plan at least one academic event/initiative every two months; assist with the development of the IHP Mentorship Program; seek opportunities for students to participate in career and academic developing activities and professional development workshops, including collaboration with the University, student clubs, or the IHP; work with other Executives to brainstorm ideas, outline costs, secure funding for events, and book venues.

The Rady Faculty of Health Sciences (RFHS) Council requests that five (5) students from the Interdisciplinary Health Program (IHP) serve on the 2024-2025 Faculty Council as representatives of the IHP. This usually involves attending one (1) Faculty Council meeting.
